Saint Mark's Lutheran Church is located in Baltimore at the corner of St. Paul Street and 20th Street. Our congregation draws members from the Charles North neighborhood, across Baltimore, and from many suburbs. Presently we have 150 members; about 100 people attend worship on any given week. St. Mark's is a congregation of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Different worship services are offered at St. Mark's. Children are always welcome. Our Thursday evening worship is a simple service of Holy Communion. The 11:00 service on Sunday morning is a traditional service. The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated at all
worship services. Baptized Christians of all ages and denominations are invited to the table of the Lord.
Worshipping God is the central act of the Saint Mark community. Worship is the inspiration for all of our work in all other areas. Through worship we are connected to the source of our life, and strengthened to reach out to our neighbor. Our regular Sunday services are enriched by weekday worship; we also gather for worship when the church's seasonal calendar calls for special services. The congregation is encouraged to be involved in worship at many different levels; the church's traditional rites enrich both individual and family life. Answers to questions you may have about worship may be found by clicking here.
Our Christian education hour is every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Worship services are typically followed by a coffee hour or meal. This is a great chance to get to know other members and visitors.
Free parking is available in the lot immediately north of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. The church is wheelchair accessible.
Baptisms are performed as part of our regular Sunday worship services, except in the case of emergencies.
Weddings are to be scheduled with the pastor, generally after a period of premarital counseling.
In addition to leading services of worship, our pastor is also trained in counseling. He is available to assist anyone in need. To contact Pastor Dusman, the church's telephone and e-mail information is found below.
Persons may join the congregation of St. Mark's Lutheran Church by baptism, transfer from another congregation, or by affirmation of faith. Persons interested in membership are encouraged to speak with the pastor.
Our congregation began in downtown Baltimore in 1860 and has been at the corner of St. Paul and 20th Streets since 1898. While we have a long and rich history, we are grateful for God's calling to service in this day. We are a diverse community worshiping God and serving God's people, confident in the promise of the resurrection. With your interest, encouragement and support we can advance our ministry to be the Body of Christ in Baltimore and in the world.

Welcome to St. Mark's Church.
This building, completed in 1898, was designed by leading Baltimore architect Joseph Evans Sperry (whose most famous building is probably the Bromo-Seltzer Tower). The exterior is representative of the Romanesque revival style which gained popularity in the late 19th century.
